How Long Is the Dental Implant Process?
In the following video, Dr. Vahid Bashi outlines the dental implant process, from the day of the procedure to the final restoration.
The process of placing a dental implant typically involves a standard appointment duration. When you visit our clinic for this procedure, we will administer local anesthesia to numb the specific area where the implant will be positioned, much like the anesthetic used for a dental filling. This ensures that you are comfortable and pain-free during the procedure, and the numbness typically lasts for approximately one to two hours following the appointment.
The actual duration required for implant placement can vary, depending on the specific case. For a single implant, the procedure may take approximately half an hour, while for more complex cases, such as full mouth implants, it may extend to up to an hour and a half. In general, appointments for dental implant placement usually last between one to two hours, including the surgical process. Following the implant placement, there is a healing period, which can range from a few weeks to a couple of months. During this time, the implant integrates properly with the surrounding bone. After this healing period, we proceed with the placement of the final bridge, denture, or crown.
To determine whether you are a suitable candidate for dental implants and to explore the best treatment options tailored to your specific needs, I recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation and scan at our clinic. This will enable us to assess your individual requirements and provide you with personalized advice and solutions.
