Frequently asked questions about the Best Care Dental Plan
The plan has been designed by Dr. Bashi to provide quality dental care for patients who find themselves without conventional dental insurance. The Best Care Dental Plan (The Plan) gives you a dental plan for less than $1.00 per day. There are currently two plans, a family plan and a senior plan for members who are 60+ years old. The result is quality dental care at highly competitive prices.Your monthly payment to The Plan assures that you will receive two regular annual cleanings, an exam and cavity detecting bitewing x-rays (up to 4 x-rays per year), a fluoride treatment is also included - the total cost of current services is $350. The annual cost of The Plan (if prepaid for the year)is $216.00. As you can see the value of the annual cleanings is more than the total premium per year. Any needed dental treatment will then be provided at a discount of 20% - 30% off our regular prices (depending on which plan). Dental exams are covered at no charge on the plan.
The Plan represents a unique dental value. While many plans offer a benefit only for the most frequently needed services, all dental services offered through the practice are a benefit of The Plan.
How does The Plan work?
You make an annual payment or monthly payment. Payment can be made by credit card, check or cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover, American Express. There is a commitment of one year when you enroll in The Plan. You are then eligible for any covered dental service and are required to pay for services received minus the discount amount. Before any treatment begins, we will need accurate and current diagnostic information. Generally this means a clinical examination and necessary x-rays. You can receive this when you enroll and schedule for your first cleaning appointment.Is there an annual maximum?
The Plan has a maximum benefit of $1,000 per year. There is no limit to the amount of dental treatment you may receive, however, the maximum amount of discount you can receive is $1,000. For example; if your dental treatment expense was $1,000, your discount under The Plan would be $200. The $200 would then count towards your annual maximum of $1,000. The cost of the two annual cleanings with x-rays, exam and fluoride do not count towards your annual maximum benefit.Is there a deductible?
No. Unlike most commercial plans that require you to meet a deductible each year; The Plan lets you begin using your benefits at your first visit without first meeting a deductible.Are pre-existing conditions excluded?
No conditions are excluded from treatment under The Plan simply because they existed before coverage started. For example; The Plan will pay a benefit for replacement of teeth which were removed before you started The Plan.Is enrollment unlimited?
No. Enrollment will be based on our ability to provide care, and may from time to time be closed. Once on The Plan, you will not be cancelled as long as you are in compliance with The Plan Agreement. When The Plan enrollment has reached capacity, a waiting list will be available. New applicants, and participants who leave The Plan and wish to reapply, are subject to such a waiting list.When will benefits begin?
Applications need to be received by the 20th of the month to ensure membership by the 1st of the next month. Unlike conventional insurance plans that run from January to December, The Plan coverage runs from the date of acceptance for one full year.Can I use my existing insurance?
No. The Plan is designed for patients who do not currently have dental insurance coverage.Does The Plan cover me if I am referred to a specialist?
No. The Plan only covers you for treatment at Best Care Dental PC.What if I have an emergency?
Under The Plan, emergency dental treatment is provided only at our office. If an emergency arises, please call (719) 528-8292. The discount received for after hours treatment will apply towards your annual maximum benefit.Where are services obtained?
The Plan is offered exclusively by VH Bashi DDS, 6425 Wall Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Telephone (719) 528-8292.Office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday. We are also open every other Friday from 9:30am to 5pm. Extended hours may be available by appointment.
To maintain the level of efficiency necessary to support The Plan's fees, some services may be available only on specific days or at specific times.
